Off-Label: Designed for Interactions UArts21F

Overview

In this course, we pare down to the very idea of interaction, followed by building back up to contemporary digital products. We start with real-world interactions, whether low-fi prototypes or personal engagements and use them to practice product design thinking (personas, journey mapping, empathy maps, user surveys). We then break with tradition by repurposing existing tools, seeing what kind of off-label interactions we can repurpose them for. And finally, move forward by translating the projects into forward-looking and cutting-edge tools, along with engaging in more free-form AR/VR work.

Co-taught with Angela Riechers, written about here.
